This is a continuing series of EP releases by TortoiseClimbing Audio™.
David began singing in choirs, from early elementary school on. That foundation led to studying voice in college and after. Subsequent collaborations with friends led to a number of singing and then recording projects, which transitioned into recording this series of Nostalgic Love Song EPs. Examples include:
Around 1990, his friend Terry asked him to record duets with him. Turns out most were nostalgic love songs, or related, and are included in these EPs.
Another critical influence that enabled and influenced recordings was being introduced to the fantastic piano accompanist, Ms. Nancy Reid. (Previously she was accompanist to the pops chorus, Alexandria Singers, (VA), which both Terry and David sang with for several seasons. For details about Ms. Nancy Reid see Nancy Reid.)
With Ms. Reid as accompanist, David undertook various recordings, including the privately released album, Solo Collection, in early 1993. (As part of that private release, he created TortoiseClimbing™.
Following private release of Solo Collection, David began work on a planned follow-up private album (working title of Romantic Duets, not released). Songs were all duets, again of nostalgic love songs, drawn from movies and broadway shows from the 1980's and early 1990's.)
[Work on Romantic Duets album was put on hold to focus on recording Hymns and Songs of My Mother (released summer 2024). (While the hymns album is not romantic love songs, they are nostalgic, old traditional hymns and songs.)]
When we began Phase II to complete and release Hymns and Songs of My Mother, we made the decision to convert to a for-profit entity. That led to developing our Business Plan. A critical part of that was laying out our vision for the future of TortoiseClimbing™.
An important component was articulating our vision of what products we plan to market. That made it clear, from the beginning, Nostalgic Love Songs has been a focus of ours.
After completing and publically releasing the nostalgic hymns album, we refocused on nostalgic love songs. First, we are converting/upgrading existing recordings to the meet the quality required by our current mission. (That was upgraded as part of producing Hymns and Songs of My Mother.)
Following completion of upgrading our back catalogue of nostalgic love song recordings and publicly releasing, we will turn to recording other songs for public release on EPs.

Overview of Plans for EP Series
Near-term Projects
Target for releasing our 1st EP in the Nostalgic Love Songs series is Summer of 2026. Songs for the initial EPs are coming from materials on our back master tapes, either never or only privately released. The upgrades include:
Digitally post production processing vocals;
Augmenting and/or replacing accompaniments (and some vocals);
Remixing; and
Remastering.
As of late April 2026, we are well along on a number of projects, upgrading and augmenting the previous recordings to be artistically and professionally worthy of public release. For content of each of these in process EPs, click on the following working titles for planned EP collections:

Mid-term Projects
We previously recorded the following love song duets from movies and Broadway, from the 80's and 90's. (Working title for that project was Romantic Duets.) As with all our back catalogue, we are digitally upgrading them. These recordings used karaoke accompaniments, which will be replaced, as well as some vocals. They will be released as part of additional EPs in the Nostalgic Love Songs series. Song titles include:
